The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC has called on motorists especially commercial drivers to always keep to Safety Standards and avoid the use of worn out and sub standard tyres.
The FRSC Deputy Corps Education Officer Mr Ohaeri Osondu, who made the call during the Special Easter Mega Rally at major motor parks in Abuja decried the increasing cases of reckless driving on the highway.
He stressed that many Road accidents occured as a result of attitude of motorists and poor maintenance of vehicles appealed to transport union leaders to cooperate with the FRSC in saving lives and making the roads safer for socio economic activities.
While identifying the use of phone while driving, lane indiscipline, overloading and over speeding as well as intake of alcoholic drinks as some of the Major challenges, Mr Ohaeri Osondu said the rally would be carried out nationwide to sensitize road users on effective traffic management in the country.

Speaking on the theme of the Mega Rally: Drive Responsibly, Celebrate Peaceful Easter 2026 Road Safety Awareness, the FRSC Deputy Corps Education Officer appealed to the passengers to always report drivers that fail to abide with traffic rules and regulations.

According to him, passengers have the right to call FRSC Toll free number 122 to report dangerous driving for immediate response.
He assured that the Corps would not relent in its sensitization campaign and collaboration with stakeholders in checking road accidents.
