Kapital FM 92.9 The Station that Rocks!
The Niger State Government has launched its State Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security.
The plan aims to increase women’s participation in peace building and ensure justice for all.
Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajia Hadiza Idris Kuta, represented by the Permanent Secretary Hajia Hadiza Shiru, said the state government is committed to implementing the plan and setting up a coordinating committee.
According to Mrs. Kemi Okenyodo,the Executive Director of Rule of Law and Empowerment Initiative, over 700 detainees have received free legal aid in the state, facilitated by the Partners West Africa Nigeria and the Niger State Ministry of Women Affairs.
The Lead, Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion for Strengthening Peace and Resilience in Nigeria, Mrs Amina Akano Bello, emphasized the need for full implementation of the plan to ensure women’s peace and security.
