Nigeria women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, have retained their top position in the latest International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Women’s World Rankings.
Rena Wakama’s side amassed 700.3 points, according to FIBA, to remain 8th in the world. D’Tigress are the highest-ranked team in Africa, which also makes them the only team from the continent in the global top 10.
Nigeria were recently in action at the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup qualifying tournament in Lyon, France, were they recorded two wins, and three defeats at the competition to pick up a qualification ticket (write the venue for the world cup and jump off date for the tournament).
