The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mr Nyesom Wike, has extended warm felicitations to residents of Abuja, especially Muslims on the occasion of Eid el-Fitr.
He congratulated Muslims on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast, describing the season as one of spiritual renewal and assured that security agencies are working round the clock to guarantee a peaceful celebration.
In his Eid message, the Minister who urged residents to sustain the virtues of compassion, forgiveness, and unity imbibed during Ramadan, noted that such values are essential for peaceful coexistence and the continued progress of the FCT.
While commending the spirit of sharing and caring demonstrated by Muslims and non-Muslims alike during the holy month, Wike said the collective conduct of individuals and organisations has reinforced Abuja’s reputation as a centre of unity, peace, and harmony in Nigeria.
The Minister assured residents of a conducive environment, and called on citizens to remain peaceful and law-abiding, regardless of political, ethnic, or religious differences.
The Minister also prayed for continued divine guidance for President Tinubu, noting that his Renewed Hope Agenda has improved socio-economic conditions and strengthened security within the FCT.
Mr Wike further encouraged residents to go about their lawful activities without fear, and reiterated the FCT Administration’s resolve to protect lives and property while transforming Abuja into a world-class capital city.
