Use Eid -el- Fitr As Turning Point For National Unity – CAN Urges Nigerians

The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN wants Nigerians to use the Eid-El -Fitr celebration as a turning point for National Unity and renewal in the face of economic hardship and security challenges in the country.

CAN President, Most Reverend Daniel Okoh in his Sallah message congratulated Muslims on the successful completion of this year’s Ramadan fasting.

He urged Nigerians to embrace the values exemplified during the Ramadan such as kindness, sacrifice and compassion as a pathway to National healing and progress.

According to the CAN President, the country needs Unity more than ever as the celebration provides an opportunity for collective prayers for peace, improved security, economic recovery and responsible leadership in the country.

“Our nation needs unity more than ever. From insecurity to economic hardship, the challenges before us are real, but, so too is our shared strength. Nigeria works best when we stand together; not divided by faith or ethnicity, but united by a common purpose and a shared future”

“We join our Muslim compatriots in prayer for Nigeria; for lasting peace, improved security, economic recovery, and leadership guided by wisdom and compassion. We pray that the right values nurtured during Ramadan will endure beyond this season, especially in caring for the poor, protecting the vulnerable, and building a more just society.”

Most Reverend Daniel Okoh stressed the need to Care for the vulnerable and build more inclusive society.
