2027 Election: No Opposition Can Win Tinubu – Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Nyesom Wike, has declared that no opposition candidate is likely to defeat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the FCT in the 2027 general election, citing widespread infrastructural transformation under the current administration.

He made this assertion during an inspection tour of ongoing road projects linking Bwari and Kubwa on Wednesday in Abuja.

According to the Minister, the scale of development witnessed across communities has significantly reshaped public perception and confidence in governance.

He emphasized that many residents are experiencing such improvements for the first time in their lives, the development he said, has made electoral victory for opposition forces increasingly unlikely.

“As it is, it will very difficult for anybody to win an election in the FCT against Mr. President. Because to them, it’s surprising, what they have seen under Renewed Hope.They have not seen it in their life.”

He noted that the reactions of the people reflect genuine satisfaction with the government’s efforts, emphasising that the evidence on ground speaks louder than political rhetoric.

Wike further explained that President Tinubu’s primary concern is the well-being and happiness of Nigerians, especially those in previously neglected areas.

He said the administration has deliberately shifted focus toward inclusive development that reaches rural and satellite communities.

The minister urged residents to continue supporting the administration through prayers and cooperation.

He said, President Tinubu gave a clear directive to ensure that development extends beyond Abuja’s city centre. “We were told clearly that there is over-concentration of development in the city, and we must go to the satellite towns,” he said.

Expressing satisfaction with the pace and quality of work, Wike said the administration remains committed to sustaining the momentum. “These communities are part of Abuja, and their lives must also change”, he stated.

“You can see the happiness of the people. When the people are happy, you have no choice but to be happy,” Wike added.

The inspection team covered key locations including Karu, Apo-Karshi, Bwari, and Kubwa.
