Borno Attacks: IGP Visits Victims, Conduct On-The- Spot-Assessment

AreAs part of efforts to assess the situation and boost the morale of residents of Maiduguri following the recent attacks, the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, conducted on-the-spot assessment of affected locations across the city.

During the visit, the IGP met with victims of the IED explosions receiving treatment at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, where he expressed sympathy and wished them a speedy recovery, while commending medical personnel for their efforts.

He also visited the Borno State Government House for strategic engagements with government officials, and proceeded to the Borno State Police Command Headquarters to review ongoing operations and strengthen coordinated security responses.

The police chief commiserated with families of victims affected by the attacks, describing the incidents as tragic and unacceptable.

He reassured residents of the Nigeria Police Force’s resolve to dismantle all criminal networks responsible and bring perpetrators to justice.

The IGP further disclosed that security has been significantly reinforced across Maiduguri and its environs, with increased deployments, enhanced surveillance, and robust joint operations involving other security agencies to forestall any further threats.

He called on residents to remain calm, vigilant, and continue to support security agencies with credible information, emphasizing that collective efforts are essential to maintaining peace and security in the state.
