A fire outbreak this morning at about 9am affected Block C of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation in Abuja, causing panic among workers and visitors in the complex.
The fire was said to have started from the office of a Director at the National Board for Technology Incubation located within the block.
Firefighters from the Federal Capital Territory Fire Service were quickly deployed to the scene and are currently battling the blaze to prevent it from spreading to other parts of the building.

Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps and the Directorate of Road Traffic Services were also on ground to control traffic and maintain order around the area.
Some staff members in the complex said they heard a mild explosion shortly before the fire started, suspecting it may have been caused by an electrical fault.
Others claimed that Block C had reportedly been without electricity for over a year and had been operating mainly on inverters, while emergency responders continue efforts to fully contain the fire.
