Tinubu Renews Tenure Of 3 Perm Secs

todayMarch 6, 2026

Background

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the renewal of tenure for three Permanent Secretaries in the Federal Civil Service.

This is contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja.

The Permanent Secretaries are:

(i) Ms. Kachallom Shangti Daju, Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare
(ii) Mrs. Beatrice Jedy-Agba, Solicitor-General of the Federation and Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Justice
(iii) Dr Mary Ada Ogbe, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Regional Development

The statement states that, the approval, which takes effect from 27th April 2026, marks a second and final term of four years for the officials. The renewal is in line with the provisions of Public Service Rule PSR 020909, which permits Permanent Secretaries an initial four-year term, with eligibility for a further term of four years, subject to satisfactory performance.

While congratulating the Permanent Secretaries on their reappointment, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, urged them to view the renewed mandate as a call to heightened dedication and excellence in service delivery.

She further charged them to bring their vast experience and professional expertise to bear in the effective discharge of their duties for the benefit of the nation.
