Kogi Govt Seeks Collaboration To Boost Solid Minerals Sector

todayFebruary 24, 2026

Background

The Kogi State Government has called for collaboration with local governments and private investors to boost its solid minerals sector.

The newly appointed Director of Solid Mineral Resources, Doctor Johnson Musa, made the call shortly after his assumption of office in Lokoja.

He emphasized that the administration of Governor Usman Ododo is willing to partner with key stakeholders to unlock the state’s mineral potential for broader development.

Doctor Musa highlighted that Governor Ododo’s aim is to diversify the economy, viewing the exploitation of the state’s mineral resources as a crucial element of this effort.

He underscored that achieving this goal requires cooperation between the state, local governments, and private investors.

The State Director of Solid Minerals also expressed the ministry’s commitment to maximizing the state’s mineral resources to improve the living standard of its citizens under Governor Ododo’s leadership.
