Odumosu Describes FCT Election As Credible

The FCT Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC Dr Olusola Odumosu has adjudged today’s Area Council Election as free and credible in the history of FCT polls.

Dr Odumosu who stated this after monitoring the elections in the FCT applauded the conduct of the electorate towards ensuring a hitch free polls.

He expressed optimism that the aftermath of the election would bring a strong signal of mutual commitment to building a more resilient and prosperous FCT.

The Commandant who commended the gallantry disposition of security agencies noted that NSCDC and other sister security agencies are on alert to breach any form of chaos that may arise from unscrupulous elements.

“This Area Council Election, we’ve gone round, we’ve seen for ourselves and for me and for the security community I can tell you that everything is going smoothly at least you guys are witnesses to the places we have been, no cause for alarm, the voters are conducting themselves in orderly manner, as well as the security agencies.

“Apparently before now we have made very massive deployment to all the Area Councils and you could tell from all the places we’ve been, so we don’t have any issues as far as peace and order is concerned, I think it’s highly commendable .

” Every election has its own peculiarities so we will always prepare as the situation demands, this one is Area Council Election, and like many observers have said, that this is more or less a litmus test towards the 2027 election, thats the major election that we are actually waiting for and preparing towards, and I think that whatever it is that has happened during this election by the time we get back to the table, we will be able to review, access and from whatever findings we get, we will be able to go back and make amends where necessary.

“So far I can tell that this Area Council Elections is going on smoothly.”
