In a significant measure to boost productivity and efficiency in the Federal Civil Service, the Federal Ministry of Justice has reiterated commitment towards recognizing the efforts of staff of the ministry and sister agencies.
The Attorney General of the Federation AGF, and Minister of Justice Abdulateef Fagbemi, SAN who stated this at the 2025 Justice Sector Reward and Recognition Ceremony with the Theme;” Leveraging Technology For A Start And Agile Public Service said the event was aimed at reflecting on the Ministry’s collective progress and reaffirming commitment to excellence in service for nation building.
The AGF, explained that the event was targeted at honouring outstanding officers who distinguished themselves through innovations, deligence and resolve to institutionalize the culture of ethical conduct and measurable performance across all departments in the ministry and agencies .
“The Ministry’s recorded achievement was due to the commitment, sacrifice and professionalism among member staff. Is better to have bad laws administered by good men than to have good laws administered by bad men.”
“Todays Celebration is not dedicated to our headquarters staff alone but, also to our zonal officies and agencies including the NAPTIP, NDLEA, NHRC, LEGAL AID CUNCIL, NIGERIAN LAW SCHOOL, NIGERIAN LAW REFORMS COMMISSION among others.”
“This recognition is a strategic initiative firmly rooted in the federal civil service strategy and implementation plan 2025.This framework challenges us to move beyond routine administration and embrace a result driven governance to strengthen the rule of law and improve the lives of Nigerians.”
“Over the years the ministry and it’s agencies has demonstrated remarkable resilience alligning operations with national priorities and embedded a culture of result across the justice value chain.”
“Our digital transformation accelerated significantly particularly with the implementation of the electronic content management system which went life on the 18th December 2025.”
“We have recorded a notable progress in Prosecutions, Anti-Corruption and Terrorism cases, access to justice initiative and human rights protection and non of this achievements would have been possible without the dedication of our legal aid officers, Administrators, Researchers and support staff whose daily efforts sustained the Machinery of Justice.”
On her part, the Solicitor General of the Federation and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs Beatrice Jedi-Agba said the justice sector occupies a unique and critical place in the society hence every policy and reform should ultimately touch the lives of the real people seeking fairness and accountability.
She explained that the Reward and Recognition Ceremony became necessary as the justice sector is inherently complex and demanding as many labor hard to perform their duties under intense pressure with very little recognition.
“Today, we formally acknowledge those who have exceeded the call of duty and demonstrated both courage and profound sense of responsibility towards public trust.By recognizing outstanding performance, we are not only cerebrating individuals but, also reinforcing a culture of merit and accountability across the justice sector.”
