As the FCT Area Council Election campaign intensifies in the Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, the Maikalangu/Nadabo campaign group took the exercise to some wards across the Council as part of efforts to reassure residents of more dividends of democracy across the 12 wards of the council.
At the first stop at the palace of the Chief of Kugbo Furniture and Mechanic village, Maikalangu who earlier carried out various developmental projects ranging from rural electrification, electric powered borehole and construction of roads assured residents of more dividends of democracy if re-elected.
The residents of the area however demanded for a utility vehicle for the vigilante operatives to further boost security in the area.
Also, it was a huge turn out at the second stop at the LEA Narai Primary School in Karu ward, where the incoming Vice Chairman Hon.Yusuf Nadabo hails from, with a promise by the incumbent Chairman Christopher Maikalangu of more people oriented projects.
The residents also drew his attention to the poor Infrastructural development in public schools, youth unemployment, lack of potable water & epileptic power supply among others to which the chairman said he would intervene after his re-election to meet their yearnings.
The campaign group was also received with jubilation at the Chief’s Palace in Karu including the APC Chairman in FCT, who is also the present Minister for Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs Zephaniah Bitrus Jisalo.
At the old Chief palace, Karu village a massive crowd welcomed Maikalangu/Nadabo, with the chief commending the Council under the able leadership of Maikalangu.
He however asked for more Infrastructure in the area after securing his second term in office.
It was another unforgettable moment at the L.E.A primary school in Jikwoyi phase 1,2,3 Ungwan-Gede and Dagbana where hundreds of support turned out enmass in solidarity to pledge their support for Maikalangu’s re-election.
Jikwoyi had over the years witnessed tremendous development spanning from road construction, rural electrification, scholarship awards for indigent and non-indigent residents.
Addressing supporters at the campaign ground the AMAC Boss restated commitment towards delivering more dividends of democracy if re-elected, hence he demanded they all turn out in their numbers to exercise their franchise in the 21st February election.
The youth leader of the area, Mr Afabwaje Jezhi and the woman leader popularly called ‘Mama John’ reiterated the support of residents for Maikalangu’s re-election bid describing him as a “Working and Unbiased Chairman.”
Away from Jikwoyi under Karu ward was a further move to Ungwan- Hausawa under Nyanya ward where he was warmly received by residents who reassured him of turning out enmass come Saturday 21st February 2026 for the Area Council Election.
Other parts visited were the Nyanya Market, Federal Housing, Ungwan Power, Area C&D, Gbagalape, Ungwan-Dadi and Nyanya Chief Palace where they pledged to support Maikalangu with their votes to further enjoy the dividends of democracy.
Some residents however appealed to the Executive Chairman to do more in internal road constructions, empowerment initiatives expecially among the women for self reliance.
The youth leaders of the areas also appreciated the Executive Chairman for his numerous people oriented projects across various wards in Nyanya, urging the Chairman to do more in the areas of job creation and empowerment among the teeming youths.
After receiving all the requests, the AMAC Boss said plans were already underway to deliver more dividends of democracy to all residents in fulfilment of his campaign promises for rapid development of the council.
