Islamic Family Foundation Embarks On Medical Outreach In Shape Community

Background

Ahead of Ramadan, the Islamic Family Foundation has embarked on a medical and vocational outreach at the Shape community, a suburb of the FCT.

At the event in Abuja, the Chief Imam, Islamic Family Foundation Mosque, Mallam Musa Dawud, said this was part of efforts to give back to society and engage youths and young children positively, preventing them from indulging in social vices.

Mallam Musa Dawud stated that the foundation, in collaboration with other partners, decided to engage the community to support the government’s efforts in ensuring a healthier population and equipping individuals with skills to improve their living standards.

Mallam Dawud further highlighted the vision of the organisation as a one-stop center for the Muslim Family in terms of spiritual, mentoring and capacity Management, Physical wellness and family sport as well as nutritional care and emotional wellness.

Also a family physician and the coordinator of the medical team at the outreach, Dr. Abdussamad Ayinde, explained that the medical outreach is aimed at catering for the immediate health needs of the community, as it lacks close access to healthcare facilities.

Dr. Ayinde pledged continuous support and the sustainability of the programme for vulnerable individuals at the grassroot levels as part of their corporate social responsibility.

Also, a paediatrician Dr. Khadijat Yusuf who stressed that most of the children were malnourished called on other well meaning organizations to support government in tackling poverty among the underserved.

One of the Beneficiaries, Fatima Bukar appreciated the Organisation for their support.

The highlight of the event was the inauguration of a treated water borehole powered by solar for the community by Paiyimo Charity Foundation which according to the Country Representative Simbiat Amzat would improve the health condition of the community.
