The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, FCT Province 6, Gwagwalada Abuja has commissioned a solar powdered borehole in Gwagwalada Abuja.
Performing the ceremony in Gwagwalada Abuja, the Wife of Continental Overseer, Continent 2, RCCG Abuja, Pastor Mrs Esther Odeyemi who described the project as the manifestation of the year of a brand new beginning said the borehole would go a long way in serving the water needs of members of the Church and the entire community of Redemption Avenue in Gwagwalada Abuja..
Pastor Mrs Esther Odeyemi while describing water as life noted that the world would be a better place if priority is given to projects that would alleviate the plight of the less privileged in the society.
She therefore stressed the need for religious groups to always give priority to projects that would reduce challenges in the provision of basic amenities within their host communities.
On his part, the Pastor in charge of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, FCT Province 6, Gwagwalada Abuja, Pastor Adekunle Samson Lawal said the Church decided to embark on the borehole project to alleviate the challenges of shortage of water supply in Gwagwalada most especially in Redemption Avenue Community.
Pastor Samson Lawal stated that the Church is also planning to use the borehole in establishing a water factory that would be producing satchet and bottle water to serve not only Gwagwalada but the entire FCT and neighbouring States.
He said the project was sponsored by the Women in Ministry of RCCG, Headquarters headed by Pastor Mrs Esther Odeyemi .

“Water shortage is eminent in Gwagwalada and this borehole will reduce the stress for residents of Redemption Avenue Community in going around to look for water because this borehole will serve them free of charge and I believe that those outside this community will also benefit from this project because it’s a very good source of water supply, he added.”
Also speaking, the Assistant Pastor in charge of the Church, Pastor Olawale Oluyombo advised residents of Redemption Avenue Community to make proper use of the borehole and guard against vandalism towards sustaining its purpose of serving their water needs.
Pastor Oluyombo who expressed satisfaction with the borehole project said it would go a long way in complimenting the efforts of Government on good water supply.
Earlier, the Assistant Pastor in charge of Admin of the Church, Pastor Olabode Sunday Olushola said plans are also on ground by the Church to establish more laudable projects that would improve the wellbeing of not only members of the Church but the community in general.
Pastor Olabode Sunday Olushola therefore stressed the need for well meaning Nigerians and religious groups to be committed to the yearnings and aspirations of the people towards ensuring the betterment of the society.
