The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has directed all Secretariats, Departments and Agencies (SDAs) to open and strictly maintain staff attendance registers following the order for suspension of the JUAC strike by the National Industrial Court of Nigeria.
The directive is contained in a circular issued on Tuesday, by the Acting Head of the Civil Service of the FCT, Mrs. Nancy Sabanti, to ensure compliance with the Court order .
According to the circular, the court, presided over by Justice E. D. Subilim, ordered that the strike action embarked upon by FCT Administration staff be suspended forthwith.
Consequently, all workers have been directed to resume duties immediately.
Mrs. Sabanti tasked all Permanent Secretaries, Heads of Departments, Parastatals and Agencies to ensure compliance with the directive by keeping proper attendance records, even as she reaffirmed FCTA’s commitment to the welfare of staff.
The development follows days of industrial action that disrupted services across the FCT, affecting public offices, schools and other essential services.
