Chief Bawa Coronated As District Head Of Old Kutunku

Background

Chief Stephen Bawa has been coronated as the District Head of Old Kutunku alongside Alhaji Sani Mohammed as the Dadachi, Old Kutunku in Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory

Speaking during the Coronation Ceremony held in Old Kutunku, Primary School, Gwagwalada Abuja, the Aguma Of Gwagwalada, Alhaji Muhammadu Magaji advised District Heads and Community Leaders to always be fair and just to all people on their communities irrespective of tribe, religion and political differences.

Alhaji Muhammadu who was represented by Waziri Gwagwalada, Mallam Yabala Madaki Magaji said the advice became necessary to sustain the peace and unity being enjoying in the area and to ensure the progress and development of Gwagwalada and its environs.

The Traditional Ruler who described peaceful coexistence as key to the development of any society warned that the Government would not hesitate to sanction any District or Village Head who misbehaved in the area.

Alhaji Muhammadu Magaji therefore urged District and Village Heads in Gwagwalada to always contribute their quota to the peace and development of the area.

In a remark, the District Head of Old Kutunku, Chief Stephen Bawa recorded gratitude to God for the coronation ceremony.

Chief Stephen Bawa therefore promised not to betray the confidence reposed in him by the entire people of his community.

The District Head of Old Kutunku said he would not relent to contribute his wealth of experience and knowledge towards attracting developmental projects to the community.

While soliciting the support of.people in Old Kutunku, Chief Stephen Bawa pledged to carry everyone along in the day to day running of the community.

He used the opportunity to commend the Minister of FCT, Dr Nyeson Wike for the road infrastructural projects in Old Kutunku and appealed for urgent completion of the ongoing Secondary School in the community to further enhance educational development in the area.

Also speaking, the Gadaci of Old Kutunku, Alhaji Sani Mohammed also expressed gratitude to God for making the day a reality.

Alhaji Mohammed promised to continue to contribute their quota to the betterment of their communities.

In goodwill message, the Gwagwalada Police Area Commander, ACP Chinyere Akelaga congratulated the Celebrants on their coronation and urged them to always support the Police in maintaining law and order in their community.

She pledged the continuous support of the Police in ensuring security of lives and property within and outside Old Kutunku.

The coronation ceremony which was attended by Community and Political Leaders within and outside Gwagwalada Area Council featured the display of cultural heritage of the indigenous people of the FCT .
