Background

The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) FCT Command, Dr Olusola Odumosu has decorated four hundred and two

Odumosu, who charged them on professionalism and effective service delivery, said the promotions are well deserved and a testament to their hard work, professionalism and loyalty to the ideals of the Corps.

“Promotion, however is not an entitlement, it is a call to higher responsibility, greater discipline and enhanced service delivery “to whom much is given much is expected”.

He urged the newly decorated officers to wear their ranks with humility, integrity and renewed zeal, adding that the Corp has made notable progress in the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure particularly in safe guarding government facilities, public utilities and strategic installation.

The FCT NSCDC Boss, disclosed that  the Command has intensified fight against vandalism, illegal mining, and other acts of economic sabotage recorded in 2025 with the  arrest of one hundred and twelve (112) vandals and no fewer than 50 illegal miners, followed by successful prosecutions that have helped deter criminal activities.

The FCT Commandant who commended all the officers and men for their sacrifices and dedication, advised the promoted officers to ensure that their conduct reflect the confidence reposed in them by the Corps.

He assured the Minister of the FCT, the Commandant General and the good people of Abuja of his continued commitment to professionalism.
