A Former Military President, General Abdulsalami Abubakar says all hands must be on deck to enhance the nation’s Democratic system.
General Abubakar stated this in Minna when he received the leadership of the Social Democratic Party, SDP.
General Abdulsalami Abubakar said the country’s Democratic system can only get better through collective efforts by citizens.
He prayed for economic growth and restoration of peace in the country.
The Acting National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party -SDP, Dr Sadiq Umar Gombe who said the visit was to commiserate with the elder statesman over the demise of his sister, Late Hajiya Fatima Abubakar as well as seek fatherly blessings for the new year pointed out that General Abdulsalami Abubakar has been a symbol of peace, unity and progress in the country.
Speaking on the security challenges confronting the nation, the National Chairman of SDP stressed the need for the present administration to put necessary measures in place to address the situation.
The Member Representing Karo-Keffi-Kokona Federal Constituency Mr Gaza Jonathan Gbefwi, explained that the country needs purposeful Leadership to enhance development.
Earlier, the Leadership of the Social Democratic Party paid a visit to the Former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida at his Hilltop residence.
