FFS Boss Wants Promoted Personnel To Uphold Professionalism, Ethics

Background

The Federal Fire Service says it remains steadfast in its mission to promote professionalism, accountability and effective service delivery in line with its core mandate.

The Comptroller General of the Federal Fire Service, Samuel Olumode-Adeyemi made this known at the decoration of the newly promoted officers and men in Abuja.

Adeyemi emphasized the need for renewed commitment to duty, ethical conduct and unwavering respect for the rule of law in discharging their assigned responsibilities.

“Today is not just a ceremonial gathering, it is a moment of affirmation, recognition and reflection, we are here to formally decorate senior officers who have earned their promotion through rigorous, transparent and highly competitive process conducted by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board in collaboration with Army Resource Centre, in total 2,620 officers across ranks were promoted ,and today’s decoration symbolizes the reward of discipline, sacrifice and consistent professional excellence “.

The CG stressed that promotion goes beyond uniform and taking compliments but upholding integrity as the watchword.

” Let me state clearly, promotion in the Federal Fire Service is neither automatic nor accidental, it is the outcome of years of commitment, repeated assessment, performance reviews and institutional scrutiny, to every officer being decorated today, your new rank is proof that the Service has found you worthy of greater trust and higher responsibility ”

“At this point I wish to express my profound appreciation to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, Commander in Chief of the Armed forces, Mr President’s unwavering support for security and emergency response institutions continues to strengthen national resilience, without his approvals, confidence and Reform driven leadership milestones such as today’s ceremony would not have been possible ”

” I also sincerely thank the Honourable Minister of Interior and Chairman of the board Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo for his purposeful leadership, strategic guidance and hand on oversight, his insistence on accountability, performance management and institutional reforms has shaped how we work, how we are evaluated and how we deliver value to the Nigerian people “.

” I equally acknowledge the board Secretary and members of the CDCFIB for their diligence, professionalism and commitment to merit-based advancement “.

The Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board, Retired Major General Abdulmalik Jubril called on the Controller General of the Federal Fire Service to make requisition for modern Fire fighting equipments to contain incidences of fire in the country as well as boost the morale of officers.

The CSO to the Comptroller General, Sunday Abiola Musa who spoke on behalf of the newly promoted officers reaffirmed their resolve to uphold public trust and the glory of the Federal Fire Service .

Over 2,600 officers were promoted across ranks.
