The House of Representatives has renewed its commitment to people-centred legislation, effective oversight and national development in 2026, while extending New Year greetings to Nigerians at home and in the diaspora.

In a statement by the House Spokesperson, Mr Akin Rotimi, the green chamber said 2026 presents a moment for reflection and renewed responsibility, praising the resilience of Nigerians despite ongoing economic and security challenges.

The House says its priorities for the year include legislation to support economic stability, improve public services and enhance national security, alongside constructive engagement with stakeholders.

It also called on citizens to uphold unity, lawful conduct and civic responsibility, stressing that national progress depends on shared responsibility between the government and the people.
