Cleric Urges Christians To Emulate Virtues Of Jesus Christ

As christians in Nigeria today join their counterparts the world over to celebrate this year’s Christmas, the Minister in charge of First Baptist Church, Gwagwalada Abuja, Reverend Deji Oyelami wants them to always emulate the virtues of Jesus Christ who is the reason for the season.

In his Christmas message in Abuja, Reverend Deji Oyelami said the birth of Jesus Christ brought hope and redemption to humanity.

He therefore advised christians to celebrate Christmas by honouring Jesus’ birth by sharing his love to people around them.

“As a christian, we should shun any act detrimental to the true essence of the occasion and always imbibe the teachings of Jesus Christ because celebration without the Celebrant which is Jesus in their lives is an effort in futility”.

The Baptist Cleric also admonished christians to let the birth of Jesus Christ inspire them to spread love, kindness and hope to their neighbours irrespective of tribe and religious differences.

He also enjoined them to use the occasion in praying for Nigeria to overcome its economic and security challenges.

Reverend Deji Oyelami equally used the opportunity to call on Government at all levels to promote intergrity, serve with accountability and give priority to the welfare of Nigerians and ensure effective security of lives and property in the country.

While stressing the need for all Nigerians to be committed to the continuous corporate existence of the country, Reverend Deji Oyelami enjoined them to always contribute their quota to national peace and development.
