NUJ FCT Distributes Over 600 Bags Of Rice To Members

The Federal Capital Territory, FCT Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, has distributed more than 600 bags of rice to its members in Abuja to celebrate Christmas.

The initiative, led by the Chairman, Comrade Grace Ike, is designed to support journalists amid economic challenges and strengthen solidarity within the union.

Speaking during the distribution, Comrade Ike said the gesture was “more than a seasonal activity” reflecting the council’s ongoing commitment to the welfare of its members.

She noted that this is the second year the council has carried out the initiative.

Earlier, Comrade Ike alongside her executives, met with state-level NUJ leaders, including chairmen and secretaries of various chapels, to review the council’s achievements.

She highlighted key projects including the ongoing construction and remodelling of the NUJ Congress Hall.

Comrade Ike called for sustained cooperation and collaboration among members to further strengthen the council and consolidate the gains already recorded.

She urged journalists to embrace the spirit of the season and reminded them of the importance of unity and collective responsibility in advancing the union’s goals.

The high point of the meeting was the unanimous restatement of confidence in Comrade Ike’s leadership, which was described by NEC members as proactive, pragmatic, purposeful, and driven by performance.
