ADP Chairmanship Candidate Tasks Christians On Unity, Peace @ Christmas

The Chairmanship Candidate of the Action Democratic Party, ADP, in Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Comrade Shanabo Abubakar is felicitating with christians in the area on the occasion of this year’s Christmas celebration.

In his Christmas message in Gwagwalada Abuja, Comrade Shanabo Abubakar admonished christians to use the occasion in praying for the unity, peace, development and continuous corporate existence of Nigeria.

He also stressed the need for them to use the period in rededicating their lives to the service of God and humanity.

According to him, this year’s Christmas celebration calls for sober reflection in view of the current situation in the country.

The ADP Chairmanship Candidate used the opportunity to call on electorates in the area to shun money politics in next year’s FCT Area Council election.

He said the call became necessary to ensure the emergence of credible leaders and ensure good governance in the area.

Comrade Shanabo Abubakar identified money politics as one of the factors responsible for bad governance.

He emphasized that electorates in the area should give priority in electing visionary Leaders that would be committed in delivering the dividends of democracy to all the ten Wards of Gwagwalada Area Council.

While describing Gwagwalada as very strategic in the FCT, the ADP Chairmanship Candidate promised to embark on people oriented projects if elected in the February 2026 Chairmanship election.

The ADP Chairmanship Candidate also promised to tackle insecurity, provide adequate healthcare, youth and women empowerment, road infrastructure, provision of quality education and potable water, development of agriculture and food security as well as provision of other basic amenities that would improve the socioeconomic wellbeing of people in the area.

Comrade Shanabo Abubakar who expressed satisfaction over the preparation of INEC so far for the Area Councils poll advised the Commission to ensure the conduct of free, fair and credible election.

He equally advised prospective voters in the area to obtain their Permanent Voter Card, PVC, to enable them elect candidates of their choice that would pilot the affairs of Gwagwalada Area Council for the next four years.

While calling on youths to avoid being used by selfish politicians before, during and after the election. Comrade Shanabo Abubakar stressed the need for politicians in the area to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship towards ensuring a peaceful and credible election.
