Use Modern Facilities To Strengthen Security Network- Akume Urges FRSC

Background

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation Senator George Akume has called on the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC to use its modern facilities to strengthen security network and boost economic growth.

Inaugurating newly procured Seventy Five Electric Motor bikes in Abuja, Senator Akume said Road Safety and national security are inseparable hence the need for FRSC to secure the highway for socio economic activities.

The Secretary to the government of the Federation emphasized that FRSC must key into the renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu towards citizen security, public confidence and sustainable solutions.

He urged the Corps to ensure that the newly procured electric motor bikes reflect the federal government’s firm commitment to protect lives, property and critical infrastructure across the country.

According to him, FRSC must deploy these motor bikes to ease traffic and provide intelligent information to security agencies for prompt response to criminalities in every part of the country .

“The bikes are fully equipped with sirens, high visibility amber light, microphones loudspeakers for public announcement, live audiovisual recording systems with transparent enforcement”.

He expressed confidence that the motorcycles would be deployed judiciously, strategically and responsibly to achieve their intended purpose of supporting national security.

The Corps Marshal Mallam Shehu Mohammed commended the federal government for always giving the needed support to enhance the operations of the Corps.

He said the provision of the Motor bikes came at a critical period when there was increased vehicular movement for Christmas and New Year Celebrations.

Mallam Shehu Mohammed assured that the bikes would be deployed to critical corridors identified with gridlocks in the country.

Mallam Shehu Mohammed affirmed the Corps commitment to effective traffic management beyond the Yuletide.
