The St. Ita’s Girls Grammar School Old Girls Association, (SIOGA) has elected a new set of global officers to lead the affairs of the association and drive development initiatives.
The election, which produced representatives across different branches in Nigeria and abroad, marked a major step towards strengthening unity, expanding global membership and improving the welfare of students and alumni of the school.
In the results announced across various branches, Mrs. Cecilia Saduwa Isibor (Abuja branch) emerged as Global President, with Mrs. Joyce Kpogho (Warri branch) elected as Global Vice President.
The position of Global Secretary went to Mrs. Sabina Okafor (Warri branch), while Mrs. Augustina Ebojor (Edo SIOGA Benin) was elected Assistant Secretary.
Mrs. Leton Akpovona (Abuja branch) was elected Treasurer, with Mrs. Owhiroro Akpomudjere (Agbaro) emerging as Financial Secretary.
In the publicity arm of the association, Mrs. Erica Ukey-Omodu was elected Global PRO, while Mrs. Edijana Feldman (Sapele branch) became Assistant PRO.
The election also produced new officials in charge of welfare with Mrs. Juliet Oriakhi (Warri branch, Class of 1987) emerging as Welfare Officer, and Mrs. Thelma Utulu Paul (Class of 1990, Edo SIOGA Benin) elected as Assistant Welfare Officer.
Mrs. Mabel Ogue (UK) was elected Provost, while Mrs. Patience Ogodo (Warri branch) and Mrs. Rita Akpotaire (Abuja branch) emerged as Regional Coordinators South and North, respectively.
The position of Legal Adviser went to Mrs. Mercy Otobrise.
The newly elected officers expressed readiness to reposition the association and support the school through collaborative projects and alumni-driven programmes.
Members say the exercise reflects renewed commitment among old girls to preserve the legacy of St. Ita’s Girls Grammar School while contributing to the educational growth of young girls in the institution.
The new officials are expected to pilot the affairs of SIOGA globally for the benefit of members and the institution.
