The Director General of the Tinubu Support Group, TSG, Dr. Umar Tanko Yakasai has inaugurated the Asiwaju Pro-Poor Project.
The project was unveiled during a courtesy visit to the DG of the TSG by the National Coordinator of the Asiwaju Pro-Poor Project in Abuja.
In his remarks at the inauguration, Dr. Yakasai commended the Asiwaju Pro-Poor Project team for what he described as a timely and people-focused intervention describing it as a strategic grassroots initiative aimed at strengthening support for Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration.
The DG emphasised that the responsibility now lies with the group to move beyond planning and begin full implementation of its vision.
He therefore called on members of the Group to align structures across the country to commit fully to the task ahead.
Dr Yakassai further stressed that securing a second term for President Tinubu would require collective effort and sustained grassroots engagement, urging all support groups operating under the TSG umbrella to intensify mobilisation and remain focused on delivering tangible results.

Mr Donatus Okonna, who presented the group’s mission and vision to the TSG leadership explained that the initiative is designed to complement President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda by directly addressing poverty at the grassroots through structured economic empowerment.
According to him, the project targets the upliftment of 1,000 families in each of Nigeria’s 8,809 electoral wards, with the dual objective of reducing poverty and consolidating an estimated 35,236,000 votes nationwide in the upcoming elections.
He noted that beyond political mobilisation, the initiative seeks to communicate government policies effectively while improving the daily lives of Nigerians, stressing that hunger and frustration often fuel insecurity and social instability.
Okonna added that beneficiaries would be transparently engaged and documented to ensure accountability, sustained civic education and continuous mobilisation in support of the present administration.
The inauguration marks the formal take-off of the Asiwaju Pro-Poor Project as part of broader efforts by support groups to align grassroots empowerment with political mobilisation to ensure the dividends of democracy is felt by Nigerians.
