President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to present the 2026 budget to a joint session of the National Assembly on Friday, December 19.
Ahead of the presentation, a formal communication from the Presidency is expected to be read in the House of Representatives, notifying lawmakers and staff of the president’s appearance.
The National Assembly says Tinubu will address lawmakers at 2:00 p.m., with tight security and restricted access to the complex.
The presentation formally kicks off legislative consideration of the government’s spending plans for 2026.
