Venue confirmed for Super Eagles vs Egypt pre-AFCON 2025

As preparation for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nation gain momentum and participating teams gear up for the crucial encounter, The Super Eagles of Nigeria will battle the Pharaohs of Egypt in a high-profile international friendly match.
The match will hold at the magnificent Cairo International Stadium.
However, Eric Chelle side may be without some Europe-based players, as certain clubs have reportedly restricted their release for the friendly.

The situation could prompt Coach Eric Chelle to rely more on alternative options and give fringe players a chance to stake their claim for AFCON spots.

Also the Pharaohs will start preparation for the tournament today with local based players expected to report first as foreign-based stars including Mohamed Salah, Omar Marmoush, Mostafa Mohamed, Hamdy Fathy, and Ibrahim Adel will join next week following club duties.

The encounter will hold on Sunday14th December 2025.
Nigeria will win AFCON, Iwobi
Super Eagles and Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi has predicted that Nigeria will win the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations starting later this month in Morocco.

Iwobi who made the bold prediction at the Confederation of African Football Diaspora Tour in London, also expressed confidence that Eric Chelle has quality players capable of bringing the trophy back home.
The 29 year old believes that the three time Africa Champions will improve on their runners-up finish from the last tournament.
Iwobe also explained the importance of the CAF Diaspora Tour in London and Tokyo, where the AFCON trophy was showcased, adding that people need to understand how big the AFCON is.
The tournament is billed for 21st December 2025 to 18th January 2026 in Morocco.
