Super Falcons and Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has won the English Women’s Super League Save of the Month award for November.
Recall that Nnadozie was nominated for the individual accolade in October before Arsenal’s Daphne van Domselaar beat her and two other goalkeepers to the award.
Nnadozie beats strong competition from Aston Villa’s Sabrina D’Angelo, Liverpool’s Faye Kirby and Manchester City’s Ayaka Yamashita to clinch the award for the first time.
The 24 year old won the accolade for her brilliant save in Brighton’s 1 all draw against Liverpool, where she sprang acrobatically to tip Fuka Nagano’s long-range strike onto the crossbar before the ball went out of play.
The save immediately drew applause from spectators and was replayed widely across WSL platforms, with analysts describing it as one of the standout goalkeeping displays of the season.
Brighton & Hove Albion occupied seventh position on English Women’s Super League table with eleven points after playing nine games.
