Summon Political Will To Arrest Sponsors Of Banditry – Ndukuba Urges Tinubu

todayNovember 30, 2025

Background

President Bola Tinubu has been urged to summon the political will to arrest and prosecute those sponsoring banditry and other security challenges in the country.

The Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Most Reverend Henry Ndukuba, who made the call at a Thanksgiving service to mark 36 years of the Anglican Diocese of Abuja said the time had come for the sponsors of crime to be exposed and made to pay the price.

Most Reverend Ndukuba alleged that individuals hired by some political elites and traditional leaders for selfish interests are responsible for the current kidnappings, killings, and other heinous crimes across the country.

According to him, the creation of state police will not solve the problem, as state governments may use the apparatus for selfish purposes.

“When those who are sponsoring insecurity in our land are dealt with, if the courts of Nigeria cannot handle them, let them be taken to the International Criminal Court in the Hague”.

He assured that the Church would continue to pray, but added that everyone, including those in authority, must love the citizens and commit to ending ungodly acts.

In his sermon, the Anglican Bishop of Afikpo, Ebonyi State, Right Reverend Paul Udogu, called on Christians to exemplify the virtues of Jesus Christ and shun activities that could hinder them from receiving God’s blessings.

Right Reverend Udogu reminded the congregation of the need to draw closer to God and to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to unbelievers.

The Anglican Bishop of Afikpo also assured that God would bring transformation to the country when citizens live according to His will.
