The John Mononia Foundation Charity Cup Tournament concluded on Sunday, November 23rd, 2025, with Royal Boys FC defeating Market Square FC 2-0 to emerge winners, of the tournament played at the Jikwoyi Community Central Stadium, Api’akokwoyi, Yeminya Zakwoyi Road, FCT-Abuja, Nigeria.
A total of 20 teams from Jikwoyi, Karu, Kpeyegyi, Kurudu, and Orozo participated in the tournament. It kicked off on October 5th, 2025, and aims to give back to society.
Royal Boys, who won the John Mononia Foundation Charity Cup Tournament, received a cash prize of N500,000 and a set of jerseys.

While 2nd-placed Market Square FC received N300,000, 3rd-placed Marshall FC received N200,000. All semi-finalists also received a new set of jerseys.
In the individual categories, Mustapha Ahmed of Market Square FC received a Scholarship Award. The Royal Boys FC duo, Innocent Godwin and Aguye Ahmed, were the Player of the Tournament and Best Goalkeeper, respectively.
Meanwhile, Marshall FC’s Joseph Clement was the Highest Goal Scorer. The Coach of the Tournament Award went to Danjuma Yusuf of Royal Boys FC, and the Best LOC Award was presented to Mr. Thompson Ochelle.
The CEO of the foundation, Captain Mack Agbatutu, stated the tournament’s aim is to raise awareness and funds to support ongoing charity programs for widows, orphans, and struggling families, while promoting peace and togetherness using football as a universal language that connects people across backgrounds.

The charity tournament also looks to inspire and empower youth, foster discipline, teamwork, and leadership through active participation, and encourage a culture of giving, reminding society that generosity and empathy are timeless values.
Before kicking off the tournament, Captain Agbatutu visited His Royal Highness, Rev. Dr. Bawa S. Jetta, Gaba Yakwo, MACHI I, ESU JIKWOYI Kingdom, to get his blessing for the success of the tournament.
