Fire Safety : FFS To Embrace Technology, Increase Capacity Of Personnel

Background

The Controller General of the Federal Fire Service, Samuel Olumode-Adeyemi says the service will embrace technology, improve inter-agency coordination as well as invest in the capability of the personnel.

The CG stated this at the end of the Fire Safety week in Abuja.

The fire safety week with the theme ” Building a Culture of Fire Safety across Nigeria: overcoming the ” Not my portion mentality ” which ran from Monday 17th November to Friday 21 November, witnessed unprecedented fire safety awareness across the states of the Federation and the FCT.

The Controller General Samuel Olumode Adeyemi, who was represented by the Deputy Controller General in Charge of Human Resources, Muazu Tambari called on Nigerians to adopt a new mindset anchored on the knowledge of vigilance and responsibilities.

While reiterating the commitment of the Federal Fire Service to modernise operations through technology, enhance personnel welfare and intensify nationwide fire prevention campaigns, the CG commended stakeholders who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to fire safety compliance and consistent collaboration with the Federal Fire Service.

“As a Service, we will continue to strengthen training, modernise our operational systems and expand community outreach, fire safety is evolving globally and we must keep with the pace by embracing technology, improving inter-agency coordination and investing in the capabilities of our personnel “.

“Under my leadership, we remain committed to elevating the Federal Fire Service to higher level of professionalism, responsiveness and public engagement ”

” Their proactive engagement, adherence to safety standards and support for our nationwide sensitization efforts clearly sets them apart, we are proud to acknowledge their contributions which reflects true partnership and a shared dedication to safeguarding lives and property across Nigeria”.

In a goodwill message the former Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board Dr Alhassan Yakmut and the DG NIGCOMSAT Mrs Nkechi commended the firemen for risking their lives to save lives and property.

Highlight of the event was the presentation of awards to deserving stakeholders who have demonstrated outstanding compliance with fire safety standards and investiture of the National Fire Safety Ambassador to Tuface Idibia for his contribution to fire safety awareness.
