Yuletide Season: Peace Mass Transit Unveils 3,000 New Buses

todayNovember 12, 2025

Background

In a significant move to further compliment the effort of both Federal and State Government towards boosting and sustaining the transportation sector of the economy ahead of the busy yuletide seasons been the peak period for road users across the country, over 3,000 brand-new luxury buses have been released in Abuja under a new premium service line tagged “Peace Extra Comfort (PEC)”.

Speaking at the unveiling in Abuja, Managing Director of a private transport company, Dr. Judith Onyeishi David said the introduction of the Peace Extra Comfort, PEC, line marks a new era in the Nigerian transportation experience, assuring travellers of stress-free, reliable and comfortable journey in the upcoming festive season and beyond

Dr Onyeishi explained that each bus was fully air conditioned and equipped with bus charging ports, ergonomic seats, and advanced safety systems managed by professionally trained captains and drivers.

She stressed that as Nigeria’s economy continues to grapple with high transportation costs, largely due to poor infrastructure and over independence on road transport which accounts for over 90% of goods and passengers movement, makes it imperative in making the initiative a reality to further compliment the effort of the government in boosting the sector for more effective service delivery.

She also noted that in determination to addressing the age long challenges, the PMS in partnership with a Cooperative company and One Percent International Management Services launched a solution that integrates modern transport infrastructure, financial innovation and social empowerment to address the transportation cost of 30-59% of the total value of goods in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa.

What makes PEC different is its unique ownership empowerment scheme through the Grassroots Cooperative, captains/drivers can gradually own their buses with financing support from Peace Microfinance Bank — an initiative designed to promote financial inclusion and economic stability at the grassroots level.

“Funding the cooperative through a Microfinance Bank is a continuation of our legacy of empowering individuals and SMEs through assets backed financial solutions.

On her part, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the International Management Services, Ambassador Stephanie Nnadi, commended the partnership for “offering Nigerians a premium, affordable, and empowering way to travel,” describing it as “a model of private-sector-driven innovation that aligns with Nigeria’s infrastructure renewal goals.”

Earlier, General Manager of PMT Mr Uche Nwokoye, however, restated the company’s commitment to professionalism and safety, assuring travellers of the highest service standards across all routes.
