House Receives Tinubu’s Bill To Establish Cocoa Management Board

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has transmitted the National Cocoa Management Board Establishment Bill, 2025, to the House of Representatives for consideration.

The letter, read on the floor of the House by the Speaker, Dr. Abbas Tajudeen during plenary was sent in accordance with Section 58(2) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).

According to the president, the proposed legislation seeks to establish a National Cocoa Management Board to regulate, promote, and harmonize cocoa-related activities across the country.

He explained that the board would enhance the effective coordination of the cocoa value chain, improve production standards, and strengthen Nigeria’s participation in the global cocoa economy.

Speaker Abbas said the House would give the bill expeditious consideration in view of its potential to boost the agricultural sector and increase Nigeria’s non-oil revenue.
