Cleric Tasks Community Leaders On Good Governance

todayNovember 9, 2025

Background

To ensure rural transformation and development, the Minister in charge of Evangelical Reform Church of Christ, ERCC, Keida Road, Phase Two, Old Kutunku, Gwagwalada Abuja, Reverend Job Tsokaa wants community leaders to be just and fair in their dealings with the people irrespective of tribe or religious differences.

Reverend Job Tsokaa made the call during the Church’s Special Prayer and recognition service for a Staff of Radio Nigeria, Abuja Operations who is also the Mai Angwar of Keida Road, Phase Two, Old Kutunku, Gwagwalada Abuja, Chief Bitrus Mohammed Baba and the Quarters Community Leader, Chief Sunday Adamu.

The Clergyman who described the role of community leaders as key to national development stressed the need for them to always place people’s interest above personal interest to ensure a better society.

He also admonished them to always lead with the fear of God taking into consideration that they would all give account of their steadwardship one day.

In a remark, the Mai Angwar, Keida Road, Phase Two, Old Kutunku, Gwagwalada Abuja, Chief Bitrus Mohammed Baba thanked the leadership of the Church for the honour and promised to redouble his efforts towards attracting developmental projects to the community.

He identified lack of access road, healthcare facilities, secondary school, pipe borne water, electricity among others as some of the challenges confronting his community.

While soliciting the continuous support of the Church and his community, Chief Bitrus Baba said measures were already been put in place for the establishment of schools and a healthcare center in the area.

Also speaking, the Quarters Community Leader, Chief Sunday Adamu appreciated the church for identifying with them in the community.

He equally pledged to be committed to the unity, progress and development of the community.

Highpoints of the Church service were thanksgiving and special prayers for leadership of the country.
