Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC says several Programs designed for this year’s Ember months campaign are to ensure that the highway is safe and secured for road users .
The FRSC Corps Marshal, Mallam Shehu Mohammed stated this during the FRSC Valedictory Lecture Series for the Deputy Corps Marshal in charge of Training, Chidiebere Nkwonta who is retiring from service.
Mallam Shehu Mohammed said the Corps will sustain the ongoing reforms to align with global road safety best practices using technology as tools to enhance operations.
The FRSC Boss maintained that the Corps would not leave any stone unturned in checking the excesses of motorists and ensuring effective traffic management before, during, and after Ember Months Special Operations.
While commending the contributions of the retired Deputy Corps Marshal Chidiebere Nkwonta to the growth of FRSC, Mallam Shehu Mohammed urged those in service to emulate the outstanding performance of the officer.
He, however, assured that the Corps would build on the legacy of the retired senior officer.
In his lecture titled : How to navigate the Vagaries of the Nigerian Public Service: My Experience, A Good Teacher, Mr Chidiebere Nkwonta appealed to the younger officers to carry out all assignments diligently.
According to him, it pays to be loyal and committed to the service..
He, however, eulogized some of the retired senior officers for providing good mentorship, which he said equipped him to be a reckoned officer in his 35 years in meritorious service.
The Retired Deputy Corps Marshal, however, pledged to make himself available at all times.
Former minister of Information Frank Nweke junior, friends, retired and serving colleagues praised the wife and children of the retired officer for their total support that made him an outstanding officer.
