Cleric Urges Nigs Not To Despair Amidst Current Challenges

todayOctober 21, 2025

Background

Nigerians have been urged not to surrender to despair amidst the current challenges in the country.

The Senior Pastor, First Baptist Church Garki Abuja, Reverend Tom Takpatore who gave the advice during a Three day program with the Theme ” Convenant of Enlargement” said the current challenges would soon be a thing of the past.

According to him, Nigeria is a special project and God will definitely fulfill His convenant.

The Guest Speaker, Reverend Dickson Madoghwe also urged Nigerians to maintain a dual perspective of gratitude and faith, trusting in God’s perfect timing for their Convenant of Enlargement.

Reverend Dickson Madoghwe said the joy of a believer’s life comes from appreciating God’s past faithfulness while waiting for future promises.

“There are two perspectives to this message. One perspective is to show appreciation for all the things God has already done for our families. If we look at our lives, there are so many things that have brought us joy.”

He noted that the second perspective involves areas where individuals are still trusting God for breakthroughs, such as jobs, children, or personal ventures.

The guest speaker encouraged believers to also live a life of impact that would be remembered by future
generations.

The President, Women Missionary Union of the Church Deaconess Olukemi Adebimpe -Ojo assured believers that God is never late in fulfilling His promises.

“The servants of God have declared. One thing that is certain about God is that God is never late. Yes, our timing is not God’s timing”.

She acknowledged struggles many Nigerians endure, from prolonged unemployment and the wait for children to the desire for home ownership, and encouraged the faithful to turn to God.

The revival service featured prayers for the nation, its leaders, and for a collective spirit of endurance among the citizens, reinforcing the pastor’s central message of hope anchored in faith.
