Road Mgt : FRSC To Commence Free Vehicles Check

Background

The Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC is to commence Nationwide Free Vehicle Checks aimed at identifying and correcting mechanical deficiency before plying the road.

The Corps Marshal, Mallam Shehu Mohammed who stated this while addressing newsmen on the commencement of the Ember Months Campaign in Abuja said this was part of measures to check road accidents and ensure free flow of traffic during the Ember Months Campaign that will last till middle of January 2026.

He said the Corps has identified a high volume of traffic routes across the country, and adequate personnel and logistics would be deployed for effective traffic management.

In alignment with the FRSC Vision for a safer road environment during the Ember period, the FRSC Boss emphasized that the Corps would intensify Enlightement Campaigns at Major motor Parks, engage with stakeholders and hold Town Hall Meetings to sensitize the motoring public on the need to abide with traffic rules and regulations.

Mallam Shehu Mohammed assured that the corps would soon commence the contactless biometric capture with on-spot printing of the license, which will eliminate temporary licences, thereby signalling the beginning of digitized stop -shop for processing drivers license.

The move, according to him, is to to make the collection of Driver’s license a seamless exercise.

The Corps Marshal commended the Federal Government’s support, which he said contributed to the success recorded this year.

According to him, the introduction of technology into the FRSC activities has enhanced its operations nationwide.

He, however, solicited the cooperation of the motoring public towards ensuring safer road .

The theme for this year’s Ember Months Campaign is Take Responsibility For Your Safety.
