Be Role Models For Your Children – Ndukuba Advises Mothers’ Union

todayOctober 17, 2025

Background

Mothers have been urged to be role models and teach their children on the consequences of disobedience to constituted authorities and God.

President of the Anglican Women’s Guild and Mothers’ Union, Mrs Angela Ndukuba, gave the advice at the opening of this year’s annual women’s conference in Abuja.

Mrs Ndukuba, who attributed the current vices in the society to the failure of some mothers in bringing up their children with the fear of God, stressed the need to impart in their children the spirit of contentment.

She also admonished women and Nigerians at large to remain steadfast in their faith by clinging to His unchanging promises.

Speaking on this year’s theme “Unchangeable Promises of God” taken from Genesis 15:18 and Exodus 2:24,Mrs Ndukuba also urged Nigerians to hold on to God’ in the face of growing uncertainty, despair, and doubt.

She explained that the call was imperative amid growing skepticism and doubt, with some viewing faith as a scam.

“For us as women and the nation as a whole, we must know that this God is not a scam. Because people now believe that God is a scam and going to church is a scam.”

Mrs Ndukuba expressed regret that some people also believed that some of the things they heard and read from the Bible does not exist anymore.

“But it is not true. I want to encourage every woman, every person out there, to believe in God, to believe in His promises, by removing fear, but having faith in the promises of God.”

“But when we obey God and obey His promises, His commands, His covenants, we will definitely live lives that will be beneficial”.

According to Mrs Ndukuba, by holding on to faith and the promises of God, children will also learn to obey their parents and shun social vices like stealing, corruption among others and will learn to be contented with that which they have.”

She explained that by so doing, godly living will impact positively on families and the country as the nation’s leaders come from homes.
