He noted that the bill would help position Nigeria as Africa’s aviation training hub and a leader in aerospace research and innovation.

Also Speaking, the Chairman of the House Committee on Aviation Technology, Mr Tajudeen Abisodun said the institution would train engineers, pilots, and air traffic controllers, promote indigenous research, and foster global partnerships aimed at solving Africa’s aviation challenges.

He explained that the bill provides a framework for effective governance, administration, and discipline within the university, ensuring it operates with transparency, accountability, and innovation.

The Chairman noted that aviation and aerospace are no longer optional areas of development but strategic imperatives that drive economic resilience, national security, and global competitiveness.
