The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr. Nyesom Wike, has attributed the ongoing infrastructural transformation in the nation’s capital to the visionary leadership and unwavering support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Speaking during the commissioning of access roads in Sector B, Daki-Biyu District, Abuja, Wike emphasized that the remarkable progress being recorded across the FCT is a reflection of President Tinubu’s foresight and commitment to good governance.
He lauded the President’s leadership style, noting that it has provided the enabling environment for tangible achievements in the territory.
“In the next few months, we will be here again. Look at the Court of Appeal Division; it will soon be inaugurated by Mr. President. I have always said that when you have the right leadership, you can achieve the expected results” .
“People are talking about the achievements we have made; it is because of the right leadership. When you have the right leadership, you get things right and you get things going,”Wike said.
The FCT Minister assured Nigerians that the Tinubu administration will deliver unprecedented results by the President’s third anniversary in office, urging citizens to remain patient and optimistic.
“Mr. President’s third-year anniversary — Nigerians will see what they have never seen before. Through Mr. President, it will be a different narrative,” he noted.
Wike further cautioned critics and purveyors of misinformation to desist from propaganda, asserting that the administration’s achievements will continue to speak for themselves.
“People should be careful how they carry propaganda. Critics don’t know what to say again. We will keep them busy with our achievements,” he said.
Highlighting some of the major projects completed in Daki-Biyu, Wike noted that access roads leading to major federal institutions such as the Police Service Commission and the Code of Conduct Tribunal were once impassable.
“By the support and leadership of His Excellency, Mr. President, all the roads here have now been completed. Nigerians owe a lot to the President,” he affirmed.
The Minister also addressed recent speculations about his absence at the Federal Executive Council meeting, clarifying that the Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, had represented him with prior approval from the President.
“I work for Mr. President. His judgment, as far as I am concerned, has always been about putting this country in the right perspective,” Wike clarified.
He commended Dr. Mahmoud for her dedication and teamwork, describing their working relationship as exemplary. “I am happy that I have a Minister of State who has been very supportive. It is not easy to have two ministers work so closely and cooperatively,” he noted.
Wike also assured that the FCT Administration would sustain its pace of development through continuous project commissioning and new initiatives aimed at improving schools, roads, and public infrastructure.
“We will keep them busy for another 10 days of flag-offs and commissioning of projects,” he said.
