FG Will Continue To Partner The Creative Industry – Musawa

Background

In a bid to boost economic development in the country, the federal government has restated its commitment towards ensuring that the creative industry is given the necessary support.

The Minister of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, stated this in Abuja during the official unveiling ahead of the 2025 Zuma International Film festival (ZIFF).

The Minister explained that the Federal Government would continue to work assiduously with the creative and film industry in a shared vision of promoting and sustaining Nigeria’s cultural heritage for national development.

She emphasized that the creative Industry has maintained a steady lead as a crucial driver in Nigeria’s economic growth, youth empowerment, and global brand for investment and remains the asset that reflects the richness of Nigeria’s cultural heritage .

“The Nigerian film industry popularly known as the Nollywood and by extension the Kannywood remains the richness of our cultural heritage and its impact has continued to resonate across the country and beyond”.

On her part, the Minister of State for FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud said Nigeria’s creative industry remains a powerful tool for national development and economic empowerment.

The Minister, who stressed that the FCT, recognizes the value of collaboration such as the Zuma International Film Festival not just as a political capital of Nigeria but a growing hub for arts, entertainment and innovation.

“The Nigerian Film Industry with the support of the honourable Minister of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy Bar. Hannatu Musawa, in its consistent collaboration with the Nigerian Film Corporation NFC, has shapened the creative industry in its numerous developmental achievements. ”

Earlier, the Managing Director and Chief Executive
Nigerian Film Corporation, Dr Ali Nuhu said the Zuma International Film Festival has become a living symbol of Nigeria’s creative pride not only to our our creative Industry but, our dear country and the generation yet to come.

Nuhu emphasized that the film festival remains where cultures meet opportunities and ideas turned into partnerships as nations showcase their best on the global stage.

“The Zuma International Film festival is a celebration that defines us as the makers who gave them life as well as our dear listeners who carry them forward.”
