NEDMO Seeks Implementation Of Justice Uwais Electoral Reforms Report

A Group, New Direction for Nigeria Movement, NEDMO, has called for the implementation of Justice Uwais electoral reforms report.

The Convener of NEDMO, Comrade Mark Adebayo, made the call while speaking with newsmen in Abuja.

Comrade Mark Adebayo said the call became necessary to further strengthen the nation’s democratic system.

He also stressed the need for all Nigerians to be committed to the sustenance of the nation’s democracy.

The Convener of NEDMO equally advocated a neutral and unbiased appointment of the next Chairman of INEC through a thorough security scrutiny by the National Judicial Council, NJC, towards ensuring a free, fair and credible 2027 elections.

While describing good governance as key to development, Comrade Mark Adebayo enjoined political office holders to always place national interest above personal ones towards repositioning the country for greatness.

The Convener of NEDMO who expressed concern over the spate of insecurity advocated more political will in addressing the problem.

Comrade Mark Adebayo advised Nigerians to effectively participate in the continuous voter registration to avoid being disenfranchised in the 2027 general election.

He emphasized the need for them to also ensure the emergence of credible and competent leaders in the forthcoming general election.

According to him, NEDMO will continue to sensitize the people on the need to always hold their leaders accountable to ensure the betterment of the society.
