NSCDC Mourns Edo State Commandant

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has announced the sudden death of its Edo State Commandant, Agun Gbenga.

A statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Corps, Babawale Afolabi says the Late Commandant collapsed after delivering a goodwill message at an event organized by the International Association of World Peace Advocates at the Bishop Kelly Pastoral Center in Benin City.

According to the statement, the Commandant was immediately rushed to the Military Base Hospital in Benin, where he was later pronounced dead.

The NSCDC Commandant General, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi has described the late Commandant as an astute and iconic security expert who gave the best of his service to enhancing the security of the nation.

He said his dedication, humility in service, and intelligence earned him so much respect and admiration amongst his fellows.

The NSCDC Commandant General condoled with his family members stressing that the death of Commandant Agun Gbenga is a monumental loss to the NSCDC and the nation at large.

He prayed that God will grant the Corps, his family, and his friends the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
