Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Yakubu Dogara wants Nigerians to always imbibe the virtues that promote peace, love and unity for national development.
Mr. Dogora who made the call in his tributes to the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chief Agunwa Anaekwe in Abuja, said everyone would be remembered for their deeds, hence, the need to leave a legacy that is worthy of emulation.
He described the late Chief Anaekwe as a man of peace who dedicated his life for the growth of Nigeria’s democracy, stressing that the nation had lost a great leader.
The Priest, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Catholic Church, Galadimawa, Reverend Father Bede Okolie urged Christians not to perceive death as the end but the beginning of eternal life with God, adding that the former speaker touched many lives positively.

Also, former Senate Presidents, Mr. Ayim Pius and Mr. Ken Nnamani, in separate remarks, explained that the late Chief. Anaekwe inspired them throughout their political career and thanked God for using him to encourage others to be benevolent.
The Chairman Burial Committee, Senator Osita Izunaso, recalled when he served as Chief Press Secretary to the former speaker stressing that he would be greatly missed.
Senator Izunaso explained that the late chief. Anaekwe motivated him to be bold and truthful while discharging his duties as a young leader.
He maintained that the prayers and encomiums showered on the former speaker was a reflection of how he impacted on the society immensely.
The son of the late Speaker, Mr. Nnanna Anaekwe thanked Nigerians for the prayers and love extended to the family of the deceased.
Chief Anaekwe was a former speaker of the House of Representatives in the First Republic from December 5, 1992, to November 17, 1993.
He was also the second House of Representatives Speaker from Anambra State, after the tenure of the late Chief Edwin Ume-Ezeoke from 1979 to 1983.
