GWAC : Deputy Speaker Assures Communities Of Council’s Solar Powered Street Lights Project

The Deputy Speaker of Gwagwalada Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory, Hon. Yusuf Nas has commended the Chairman of the Council, Hon. Abu Giri for the installation of solar powered street lights in the area.

Hon. Yusuf Nas gave the commendation while speaking with newsmen in Abuja.

Hon. Yusuf Nas therefore stressed the need for residents of the area to report any cases of vandalism of the solar powered street lights to the appropriate authority.

“You will all agree with me that since the installation of solar powered street lights in most of the communities in Gwagwalada Abuja, cases of phone snatching and other criminal activities in the area have reduced to the barest minimum thereby enhancing the security of lives and property in the area hence the need to commend the Chairman of the Council, Honourable Abu Giri for initiating the project”.

The Council’s Deputy Speaker who expressed concern over the attempted vandalism of some newly installed solar powered street lights in the area noted that the task of protecting public facilities required the support of the residents of Gwagwalada.

“We need the support of all our people in Gwagwalada towards ensuring that the newly installed solar powered street lights in Gwagwalada last very long and the Council realized the objectives behind the project towards enhancing effective security and development in the area” the Deputy Speaker explained.

Hon. Yusuf Nas promised that all communities in Gwagwalada would benefit from the solar powered street lights towards enhancing security in the area.

He therefore reiterated the commitment of the Council towards ensuring the development of the area.

According to him, all hands must be on deck towards ensuring that Gwagwalada takes it rightful place as the industrial area of FCT through relevant developmental projects that would further open up the area for necessary economic development.

Hon. Yusuf Nas used the opportunity to restate his commitment towards attracting projects that would boost the growth and development of his constituency in Central Ward, which he represents in Gwagwalada Area Council.
