The Labour Party’s Presidential Candidate in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi, has declared his support for the Chairmanship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Dr Moses Paul, popularly called “Mr MO“.
Obi stated this while speaking at a forum in Abuja.
He pledged to stand with Dr. Paul throughout his campaign.
“I will be on the streets with Dr MO,” Obi declared, emphasizing his trust in Dr Paul’s integrity and leadership capacity. “
“I’ve been to many places with him, and I know he will not disappoint. I’ll be shocked if he ever changes”.
The program, with the theme “We Don Tire!”, aimed to sensitise residents of AMAC ahead of the official campaign flag-off for the February 2026 Area Council election.
On his part, the Chairmanship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Dr Moses Paul who also serves as National Secretary of the Obidient Movement of Nigeria, said AMAC has “failed the people.
“Our markets are trapped in endless litigations, waste management has collapsed, schools were abandoned for months, our health centres are dead, insecurity is everywhere, and businesses are strangled by multiple taxation. “This is not governance.”
He stressed, however, that his campaign is about reforms and action, presenting a bold agenda focused on restoring dignity, prosperity, and genuine service to governance.
Dr. Paul outlined several strategic plans, including Modernising AMAC markets into functional and prosperous centres of commerce, establishing a job-creating, transparent waste management system, reviving public schools and ensuring access to quality basic education.
Others are restoring primary healthcare centres with drugs, trained staff, and community health initiatives, strengthening security through collaboration with agencies, traditional leaders, and communities, harmonising taxation to protect small businesses while growing revenue through innovation.
He therefore promised to deliver people-focused infrastructure across all 12 wards of AMAC, stressing that if AMAC works, Abuja works, and if Abuja works, Nigeria works.”
Also, the National Coordinator Obi Campaign Team, Dr Yunusa Tanko, announced the movement’s full support, reinforcing the growing momentum behind Dr Moses’s candidacy.
The event attracted a crowd including civil society organisations, ADC members, youth leaders, and supporters from across Abuja, all united in their demand for a new era of compassionate, competent, and credible leadership in AMAC.
