The Nigerian Railway Corporation, NRC, says train services on the Abuja-Kaduna line will resume next week after being suspended for a month.
Operations were halted following an incident on 26 August that affected a section of the track at Asham.
The NRC says the damage has now been repaired and safety checks completed.
Out of the 583 passengers on the train at the time, 512 have already been refunded, and the corporation says it is working to reach the remaining travelers.
A statement from NRC spokesman Callistus Unyimadu said the corporation had restored both the tracks and rolling stock “to the highest safety standards in line with global best practices.”
The NRC thanked passengers for their patience and said further details of the new timetable would be released in the coming days.
