The Federal Government is set to deepen its partnership with Hungary in the area of water resources management.
The Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Professor Joseph Utsev, made this known during a visit by the Hungarian Ambassador to Nigeria, Loránd Endreffy in Abuja.
Professor Utsev stressed the need for proper coordination and documentation to ensure smooth collaboration.
He directed that all necessary documents be submitted quickly for the signing of a new Memorandum of Understanding.
The Minister also confirmed that heads of all water and sanitation agencies in Nigeria will fully participate in the upcoming Nigerian–Hungarian Water Forum scheduled for November this year, in Abuja.

In his remarks, the Hungarian Ambassador to Nigeria, Loránd Endreffy said the event will bring together Nigerian water experts and Hungarian companies with advanced water technologies.
“The forum will feature presentations on Nigeria’s water challenges, and possible Hungarian solutions, Key issues to be discussed include flood control, river training, rural water supply, and climate resilience”.
“Highlights will include a technical session on the Niger River Flood Control Scheme and the signing of a new MoU between the National Water Resources Institute, Kaduna, and the Budapest University of Technology and Economics”
